2014 is Time to Reinvent

We wanted to let everyone know that we are taking this year off from Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire to retool the Faire and bring it back in a bigger and better format next year – with more partners, new location and a greater variety of projects.

Robots and Monsters

It has been a real pleasure meeting and working with all of the creative makers and Faire planners who were a part of Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire over the last three years.  Not to mention the wonderful visitors who explored new ideas, materials and tools, and made amazing things, each year at the Faire.

There are lots of other opportunities for adult and kid makers at the Children’s Museum this summer, including being a Guest Maker in MAKESHOP, attending on- and off-site workshops, playtesting in MAKESHOP, attending Camp MAKESHOP in August and more. For more details visit www.makeshoppgh.org. If you are interested in participating in some way with next year’s Maker Faire, please email hi@pittsburghkids.org.

Call for Makers is Almost Over

The Call for Makers for 2012 is almost over! MAKE time to apply – in the midst of your crocheting, soldering, blacksmithing, printmaking, programming, weaving, rewiring – before you miss your chance to exhibit in the 2012 Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire.

*NOTE: A few makers have asked us about this “Round I / Round II” business. Both calls are open to everyone – Round I was just an early bird round. So apply today! The Faire won’t be the same without you.

Video Call for Makers

Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire is hunting for the most inventive makers around to help us mount one of the most vibrant mini maker faires in the world! The first deadline is just 1 week away on June 30th. Click the Call for Makers tab to apply and check out this video for glimpses of the action from the first annual Faire last year. Share this video widely with makers YOU know!

Special thanks to WDO Photography and THE MAKESHOP SHOW™ for producing this video.
